Homemade Taftan Bread Recipe

Taftan bread originated from Persian cuisine. This is very easy to make at home. Follow the recipe.

  • Taftan Dough
  • Flour 300 gm or 3 cups
  • Yeast 1 tsp
  • Dry milk powder 3 tbsp
  • Caster sugar 2 tbsp
  • Melted butter or oil 2 tbsp
  • Salt 1 tsp ( leveled)
  • Warm water to knead
  • For Topping
  • Oil 2 tbsp
  • Milk 2 tbsp
  • Brown sugar 1 tsp
  • Yellow food colour 1 pinch
  1. For Taftan: Take all ingredients in abowl & knead with warm water. Dough should be soft.
  2. Leave it to rise for atleast one hour.
  3. Now make taftan & prick with the back of the spoon. Brush up with the topping mixture and bake it at 180’C for 12 to 15 min or till golden.
  4. For Topping: Mix all ingredients and use for topping.
