Coconut milk uses in smoothies, desserts and savory recipes like curry or broths. Making coconut milk at home is easy then you might think and also low cost. Here I am discussing two methods of making coconut milk. One is listed here and other is How to Make Coconut Milk with Dried Coconut
Homemade Coconut Milk from Fresh Coconuts
- Coconut whole 1
- Boiling water 2 cups
Break the coconut and reserve the water.
Use a vegetable peeler and remove thin brown skin of coconut. Now you have all white coconut.
Cut it into small chunks.
Put coconut, reserved water and boiling water in blender or in food processor and process it for 5 minutes.
The coconut should be finally ground and frothy in processing.
Pour over fine sieve or a colander lined with a cheesecloth set over a large bowl.
Press down with back of spoon or use spatula to squeeze out all milk or use hands to squeeze out.
About 2 1/2 cup Coconut milk is ready. Pour in a jar and refrigerator for up to 3 days.
Use leftover shredded coconut in baking.
